UPDATE: EITC
OPERATION RESTORE

An initative of  the REACH Alliance, Operation Restore is a campaign to restore the funding for Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program to $75 million - the level at which it was funded in fiscal year 2007-08.
Education tax credits are targeted for budget cuts even though basic education funding is being increased by $354 million. The goal for this campaign is to demonstrate overwhelming parent, school, business and community support for funding restoration for the EITC program.  We can't do it without the help of those affected by the EITC program, including:

·  Scholarship recipients (all families that receive SOS Tuition assistance funds)

·  Scholarship Organizations - groups that grant scholarships to deserving students

·  EITC Businesses - Businesses that contribute to the EITC program

· Schools - both public schools, who benefit from EIO programming, and private schools, many of which stay open in part because of EITC scholarship funds

·  Families who benefit from the program – every SLS family benefits  because the funds help us keep enrollment strong and allow us to have money available for programs and improvements instead of for tuition assistance.

There is a website for the campaign at www.operationrestorepa.org On the site, you can contact your legislator, easily find handouts and talking points  (Hint: They're under "How to Help") and keep on top of the latest Operation Restore and EITC funding news.  We've also launched a Facebook Fan page - search for "Operation Restore."   We'd love if you could spread the word to your family and friends!
