EDLINE Mass Notification System
Setup Instructions

Dear Parents:

Seton-La Salle Catholic High School has chosen to subscribe to a MASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM through EDLINE.  In this way, we will notify parents and students of all school delays or closings via your cell phones. 

Once you have activated your Edline account, please follow the following procedures to enroll in the MASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM:

Setting up Email, Voice, and Text Messaging in Edline

1.      Log into Edline

2.      Click on “My Account” (left-hand side of your Edline Home page).

3.      Select “Manage Account”.

4.      You are then presented with three options for messaging in Edline:

a.       Email Settings

b.      Voice Dialing Settings

c.      Text Messaging Settings

Follow the instructions below to set up any/all of the messaging options:

Email Settings

1.      Click the “Add an Email Address” button.

2.      Enter and confirm your email address

3.      EDLINE will send a confirmation email to the email address you specified.  Log into your email account and follow the instructions contained in that email to confirm and verify the email address.  EDLINE will NOT send any school notifications to that address UNTIL you have completed the verification process.

4.      After the verification process has been completed, log back into your EDLINE account and make sure that “School Messages” is checked in your Email Settings.  This is to insure that you receive ALL school notifications.

5.      Click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Voice Dialing Settings

1.      Click the “Add a Phone Number for Voice Dialing” button.

2.      Enter and confirm your phone number.  This number will be used to receive VOICE messages.  If you do not answer the call when you receive it, Edline will leave a voice mail message.

3.      Make sure that “School Messages” is checked in your Voice Dialing Settings.  This is to insure that you receive ALL school notifications using this option.

4.      Click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Text Message Settings

1.      Click the “Add a Phone Number for Text Messages” button.

2.      Enter and confirm your cell phone number.  This number will be used to receive TEXT messages.  If you do NOT want to receive text messages, do not complete this option.  NOTE:  You will need to have a phone number entered for Voice Dialing in order to receive the notifications.

3.      Make sure that “School Messages” is checked in your Text Messages Settings.  This is to insure that you receive ALL school notifications using this option.

4.      Click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

A couple of additional notes:

·        You may add more than one phone number to the voice and/or text messages options.

·        If using the voice dialing option, please be aware that the Caller ID will indicate an “unknown” number (either a 1-800 or 1-866 prefix).  If you do not answer the call, EDLINE will leave a voice message.

·        If you have provided a telephone number for both options (voice and text messaging), you will receive one of each type of message in the event that a school-wide notice is sent out.
