Seton-La Salle Sophomore is Named to 2011 Honors Band

Congratulations to Elizabeth (Liz) Rose Wildenhain, a Seton-La Salle sophomore, who was the only student from a Catholic high school to be named to the PMEA (PA Music Educators Association) 2011 District One Honors Band. 89 high school flutists auditioned and only 15 were selected. Each musician had to prepare a major work as an audition piece. Liz plays the flute for the Honors Band and piccolo for the Seton-La Salle Marching Band. She is also a member of Seton-La Salle’s Fencing Team and qualified for nationals at the Academic Games.

Liz recently performed with the Honors Band at the Carnegie Music Hall, under the direction of Pittsburgh’s own Samuel Hazo, a world renowned composer and music educator. Liz is the daughter of Dr. Phil and Sarah Wildenhain of the Canon MacMillan School District. Liz is a graduate of St. Louise de Marillac grade school and currently plays in the bell choir at St. Thomas More Church.
