Some of our students, faculty and staff have been selected as research fellows to complete a total of four projects with Dr. Ellen Cavanaugh at Grow a Generation.
Peter Kutschke, '22, SLS Drone Club Leader, will be working with drones -- learning how they fly, how they transmit, how to use Virtual Reality headsets to race drones around obstacles and how to design challenging indoor courses.
Ms. Emily Rosati and Dr. Anthony DeCaria will be working with students Sethan-Jai Doan, '22, Diego Flores-Cruz, '22, Tyler Hill, '22, Caroline Martson, 22, Joseph Rouse, '21 and Joshua Mellor, '22 on a children's book. The book will celebrate scientific innovation in renewable wind energy.
Mr. Wade Schnorr will work with students Luke Mathias, '18, Nicholas Matts, '18, Nicholas Mercurio, '18, Samuel Molnar, '18, Brendan Perone, '18, Constance Seely-Gant, '18 and Ryan Winter, '18. The team will be creating extraterrestrial environments in "Mars Jars," which will test how the environments affect robotic operations and microbial life.
Mrs. Karen Decker and Mr. Michael Gianoutsos, our STREAM leaders, will be working to develop a dynamic, user-friendly web presence for STREAM at SLS that promotes activities and clubs, offers virtual tours, along with training and equipment space. This web presence will be designed to celebrate successes and achievements and will seek to provide school-wide use of our technology and innovation spaces.
