Summer '19 Pre-Season Info

Most of our athletic teams will hold clinics, camps, conditioning exercises and pre-season activities throughout the summer for incoming freshmen and returning students. Please check back often, as updates will be posted to this page! 

Boys Basketball

Open gyms for 9-12 graders interested in boys basketball will take place throughout June and July. All open gyms can be found HERE, and will be listed as "Basketball Conditioning - Boys".

The team will also hold a summer basketball league (9-12 graders), a JV league at Bethel Park, a Varsity league at Moon/Montour, and a one-day varsity shootout at Robert Morris University. Check back for dates and times! 

Coach Mark Walsh, '86, will also hold a number of events for 5-8 grade boys basketball players. More information on these camps can be found on our Rebel LEAP page.

Girls Basketball

Our girls basketball team is looking forward to putting in some off-season conditioning and skill training to prepare for next season! The team will be holding open gyms throughout June and August, and will do some fundraising in July. The girls basketball open gym schedule can be found HERE and will be listed as "Basketball Conditioning - Girls"

Football

The football team will hold optional open conditioning sessions throughout June and July. In June, interested players are welcome to head to our Athletic Training Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-4 p.m. (June 2-June 26) for open conditioning sessions. 

Starting the week of July 15, the team will continue its open conditioning sessions in the Athletic Training Center from 2:45-3:45 p.m. Additionally, the team will have open practices at Merrick Field daily (Monday-Friday) from 3:45-6 p.m., ending August 2. Mandatory preseason begins the week of August 5.

Boys Golf

Interested in being a part of our Varsity Boys Golf team, who were the undefeated section champions in two of the past three years?

Girls Golf

Any female Seton LaSalle student who would like to be a part of the SLS Girls Golf team is welcome to come and join the team for their summer golf sessions. The team meets weekly over the summer at driving ranges or our home course (Frosty Valley Golf Links on Boyce Road in Upper St. Clair). No experience is necessary.

Boys Lacrosse

Enjoy your summer! Boys Lacrosse is off for the summer so players can enjoy their time off and participate in other sports. Once school starts in the fall, the team will hold occasional and voluntary practices through Christmastime. Come January, the team will hold practice and weight lifting sessions a minimum of 2 times/week until the season starts in March. 

Boys Lacrosse is a game with the speed and physicality of hockey and the strategy and game plan of basketball. Both beginners and experienced players are welcome to try it out!

Girls Lacrosse

The Girls Lacrosse team will have open workouts on the following Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m. at Merrick Field: July 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22 and 24. 

All girls are welcome to participate. Incoming freshmen and transfer students are especially encouraged to come and learn about lacrosse and meet the team. No previous lacrosse experience is needed, and students may borrow equipment.

Marching Band

The Marching Band will hold practices throughout June and July. The first practices will be June 11 and 13 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Merrick Field. Practices will then be every Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Merric Field starting on June 25, and ending July 23. 

Band Camp starts on Monday, July 29 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily through Friday, August 9 (with breaks provided). There will be a parent preview show on Friday, August 9 at 7 p.m.

Boys Soccer

Our Boys Soccer team will have summer sessions every Sunday and Wednesday starting June 2, 2019 from 7-8:30 p.m. (excluding June 16 and 19) at Merrick Field.

Pre-Season camp begins on August 12 with two sessions per day (early morning and evening).

From head coach Nick Balzer, '07: The soccer program at Seton LaSalle is a very fun and enjoyable team that is dedicated to success in all aspects of the Catholic high school life. We are an accepting brotherhood, and with camp beginning before school, you can be sure that you will walk in the doors of Seton LaSalle having already made a team of friends before your first class!

Girls Soccer

Our Girls Soccer Team will hold open clinics throughout June, July and early August. Specific dates and times can be found HERE. The team's mandatory pre-season practices will begin on August 12. Check back for more information.

Boys Volleyball

All incoming freshmen and returning students are invited to attend boys volleyball practices to train with head coach John Lawrence's Junior Olympics club through June, beginning on Sunday, June 2 and ending Monday, June 24.

Practices are Sundays from 7-9 p.m. and Mondays from 8-10 p.m. through June 24. The practices are free to attend for Seton boys, and will be held at The Greentree Sportsplex in Foster Plaza — 600 Iron City Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
