June 5, 2020
Good morning SLS families,
Today is the last official day of the 2019-2020 school year. This past week has been one of excitement. On Monday and Tuesday, we celebrated with our seniors as they received their diplomas in-person in our Auditorium. On Wednesday and Thursday, the juniors and sophomores returned to the building for the final time this spring, and today, the freshmen will have their turn. It has been a blessing to see all of our students this week!
We will end the week with our graduation ceremony, which will be available on YouTube. A link with more information will be sent on Saturday afternoon if you would like to watch it. We will miss the Class of 2020, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors!
Further, we thank our families for all that you did to support your child and Seton LaSalle, especially in this last quarter of the school year. And we are extremely proud of our students and teachers for stepping up and finishing strong.
We are also very blessed to be in a school where our core values openly include respect for life and the dignity of the human person, who is made in the image and likeness of God. We appreciate that our families espouse these same values at home. This is just one of the reasons our students say that Seton LaSalle is their second home. It goes without saying that the injustices and violence throughout our country that have unfolded over the last two weeks are horrifying. As a school community, we pray for equal respect for all human life, for an end to racial divides in our communities, for open hearts and listening ears, and for an end to violence across the nation.
Finally, we look forward to the opportunity to welcome our students back in the building for the 2020-2021 school year. We've been planning and preparing since the beginning of May to ensure we have the proper cleaning equipment, sanitizing supplies, and processes in place to be ready to open in August. We will continue planning throughout the summer break. Our intention is to do everything possible to have our students back in the building for in-person education. We will be in contact with more information on athletics and fall schedules in the coming weeks once we have more information from the PIAA and other governing bodies. Our school office and business office will maintain summer office hours Monday - Friday if you need to reach us.
We wish you a very blessed, safe, and healthy summer!
In Faith and Charity,
Mrs. Martin, Mr. Hartman and Mrs. Osterhaus
