Mrs. Caves, guidance counselor, swims three marathons this summer

Our upperclassmen guidance counselor, Mrs. Judy Caves, swam three open water marathons this summer! In June, she swam a combined 33 miles in two days — 19.8 miles in 6 hours, 29 minutes on day one and 13.2 miles in 4 hours, 30 minutes on day two. On July 27, she hit the open waters again to swim the 25-kilometer Border Buster, which equates to about 15.5 miles. The marathon crosses the U.S.-Canada border in Lake Memphremagog, and Mrs. Caves mastered the swim in just 9 hours and 39 minutes.

What goes through her mind during all that time in open water? "When I swim, I think of the so many blessings I have and all that is going well for me. I also think of those less fortunate than me and I pray for them." It's no wonder she's such a source of inspiration and encouragement to our students!
