Students attend Accounting Career Day at Duquesne University

Nine students from Mrs. Decker's Accounting I and Honors Accounting II attended the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Career Day at Duquesne University recently. Students listened to professionals in different accounting careers to learn about the career paths they can pave in accounting. They even participated in a competition competition where they answered 30 questions about the Mylan Corporation using the company's 10-K annual SEC report. Their teamwork was outstanding, allowing them to complete all 30 questions, finishing in the top 25% of all teams from the 19 high schools represented at the event. Our students even gave up a half school day at SLS to attend the full-day event at Duquesne!
