With an overall 34 years in coaching and 10 years coaching at Seton LaSalle, Coach Mark Walsh has seen continuous success over the years. Some of which includes: 

  • WPIAL Playoffs: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021
  • PIAA Playoffs: 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019
  • Section Champions: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019
  • WPIAL Runner Up: 2015, 2018
  • WPIAL Champions: 2014
  • PIAA Runner-up: 2014
  • Assisted in the development of a number of players who played College Basketball at the D1, D2 and D3 level
  • AAA representative of the Western Pa. Basketball Coaches Association

Walsh’s high energy and enthusiastic coaching style shows how passionate he is for the sport and his team. His overall goals for the players are to develop the total student-athlete while setting team goals of winning the Section Championship, WPIAL Championship, and PIAA Championship. 

As a Seton LaSalle Alum (‘86), Walsh takes his role very seriously saying, “It’s amazing to be able to have the students at Seton LaSalle gain the total experience of what it is to learn, develop, and graduate from such an incredible place. I graduated in 1986 from SLS and my education at Seton LaSalle solidified my foundation as a young man to formulate the person I am today. To be able to come back here and coach is truly a blessing.”. 

2020 SEASON: 

The Boys Basketball team finished with a record of 14-5-0 and advanced to the WPIAL Quarterfinals. 
  • Michael Bigley, '20, signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Washington & Jefferson College (NCAA Division III)
    • Scored his 1,000th career point on February 10 against Serra Catholic
    • Was named to the All-Tournament team during the annual Snowball Classic Tournament in Maryland in January after scoring 19 points in each of his two games played
Coach Mark Walsh is dedicated to the sport of basketball, whether it's at the high school level or the youth level. Throughout the year, Coach Walsh holds camps and clinics––one for grade school students, and another for middle schoolers. As new camps and clinics are announced, dates and registration information will be posted here.
