Susan Hirst

Susan joined the Seton LaSalle World Languages Department in 2019. She is a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College with a B.A. in Business Administration and Spanish, and a teacher certification in Spanish. She later earned her French certification from Washington & Jefferson College and Duquesne University. She has taught in both public and Catholic high schools, as well as at John F. Kennedy Catholic Elementary School in Washington, PA. 
 
At Burgettstown High School, Susan taught French and Spanish to grades 9-12, was a member of the Senior Exit and Assignment committees, and the moderator of the French Club. She also led three trips to Europe and one to Canada. At JFK, Susan taught K-8 Spanish and French, 8th grade Religion and served as the Liturgy Coordinator. 
 
On a personal note, Susan is married to her husband, Deacon Jeffrey Hirst, and they have two sons, Alexander and Matthias. They live in Canonsburg. She is a cantor at Immaculate Conception Parish in Washington. Susan enjoys being part of the faith-filled, family-like community at Seton LaSalle.
