Tuition, Financial Aid & Grants

At Seton LaSalle, we believe any family that wants a Catholic education for their child deserves the opportunity.  And we firmly believe that cost should never be a barrier to receiving a great education—one that pushes your child to succeed today and prepares them to face the challenges of the future. 

We also know that you get what you pay for, so we do not strive to be the cheapest private school in Pittsburgh.  Our teachers, faculty, and staff work very hard every day to be the best.  Some key points to consider:

  • We provide customized financial aid packages to families regardless of income level
  • Nearly 70% of our students receive some financial aid or scholarship funding
  • Multiple children?  Not a problem. We provide significant scholarships to families with multiple children
  • We offer two types of financial assistance: Need-based Financial Aid and Merit Scholarships
  • The generous support of our alumni and donors provides over $450,000 in funding to the school each year which decreases the tuition charged by over $1,000 per student.

Catholic Discount*: $625 (effective Catholic Rate: $13,055)

Sibling Discounts: 

At Seton LaSalle, we love when siblings can share in the same, great High School experience.   But we recognize that the cost can sometimes be overwhelming when you have one, two, or more children in Catholic school at the same time.  Working with Bridgette Kennedy-Riske will put your mind at ease as she can work with you to create a customized financial aid package to fit your family’s needs.
 
Additional Fees:
Activity Fee: $400/student (Grades 9-12)
International Activity Fee: $500/student  (Grades 9-12)
Technology Fee:  $250 (new students only, one-time fee)
Graduation Fee: $250 (seniors only)
 

TUITION PAYMENT OPTIONS

FACTS FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION

Seton LaSalle’s need-based financial aid is awarded upon an independent evaluation by completing the FACTS Management application, an online application process that assesses a family's financial situation.  The information provided on your application, and in any support materials, will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for Seton LaSalle for the upcoming 2022-23 academic year. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. Applicants can apply online starting February 1, 2022, by clicking HERE to connect to FACTS online. Once an online application has been completed, the following information will need to be sent to FACTS to complete the application process:
 
  • Copies of your most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules.
  • Copies of your 2021 W-2 forms for both you and your spouse.
  • Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and TANF. All supporting documentation can be uploaded in pdf format online.

ANNUAL NEED-BASED GRANTS

  • Bishop's Education Fund (BEF): Need-based grants from this fund assist Catholic students attending Catholic elementary and high schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Please note: A completed Pastor Signature Form is required to receive funding from the Bishop's Education Fund.
  • EITC grants: Need-based grants are made available to Seton LaSalle students from the Diocese of Pittsburgh through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program.
  • Scholastic Opportunity Scholarship (SOS) Fund: Need-based grants are made available to Seton LaSalle students who live in a state-approved failing school district through the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) Program.
  • Seton LaSalle Tuition Emergency Support Fund: This fund is intended to support current SLS families who are in crisis by providing supplemental financial assistance.
 
 

OTHER WAYS TO LOWER TUITION COSTS

Since tuition payments begin in July of the current academic year, students transferring from Seton LaSalle to another school after this date will be required to pay the tuition due to date, plus an additional month's tuition as a transfer fee before records will be forwarded to the new institution.
 

IMPORTANT REMINDER

The Diocese of Pittsburgh has ruled that Diocesan Catholic high schools may withhold credits, transcripts and diplomas, or prohibit participation in graduation exercises or proms, or take other action until financial obligations to the school have been met. Diocesan high school students will not be permitted to register for or return for the following school year until all financial obligations have been met.
