Part-Time Maintenance/Custodial Worker
Description
Seton LaSalle Catholic High School is seeking a hard-working, self-starter to join our school community as our weekend maintenance/custodial worker. Working hours are Friday afternoon/evening, and Saturday/Sunday during the day. There is some flexibility available with the schedule and hours, with the potential to eventually become a full-time position. This individual will report to the Head of Maintenance.
Responsibilities
• Open the building in the morning, including turning on lights and opening gates.
• Address immediate issues such as spills, leaks, or any potential safety hazards.
• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, and other shared spaces daily or as needed.
• Remove trash from the cafeteria after school events.
• Remove trash from Merrick Field and parking lots as needed, checking daily.
• Oversee plumbers, electricians, and other trades working at the school.
• Monitor restroom supply levels and replenish as required.
• Clear sidewalks of snow and apply salt as needed, utilizing school trucks and equipment.
• Monitor the school heating system's operation.
• Accompany inspectors for all annual building inspections as needed.
• Assist in assembling, moving, and arranging furniture as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous minor building repairs, including touch-up painting, bulb replacement, and hanging requested items etc.
• Possess some knowledge of shut-off valves, panel boxes, etc.
• Maintain grounds, specifically areas not covered by the grass-cutting service agreement.
• Provide necessary set-up, tear-down, and clean-up services for school events and activities.
• Complete other projects as directed by the Head of Maintenance.
