We’re excited to share the following staff updates for the 2026-2027 School Year:
Ms. Hannah Kemper - Full-Time Director of Campus Ministry
Ms. Kemper is excited to be joining Seton LaSalle as the Director of Campus Ministry! Originally from Pittsburgh, she grew up in Mars, PA and studied biomedical engineering at Penn State. Ms. Kemper went into college with the intention of going to medical school, but after leading a high school mission trip, the Lord called her to ministry! After graduating from Penn State, she moved to Tucson, Arizona where she taught middle and high school math and science in Catholic schools for five years. She also worked as the director of religious education for a parish in Arizona. During that time, she earned her Master's of Education from the University of Mary in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment with a Catholic Educator Concentration. Ms. Kemper spent this past school year living in Cork City, Ireland, where she taught math and science at a classical Catholic school. She is currently working on her Master's in Theology from the Augustine Institute, which she describes as "incredibly life-giving!" In her free time, she loves spending time with her rescue pup, Eleanor, playing piano and singing, and reading dystopian novels.
Ms. Olivia Tiani, ‘16 - Full-Time English and Language Arts
We are thrilled to welcome Olivia Tiani back to the Seton LaSalle community as a full-time English Language Arts teacher! Last year, Olivia served as a long -term substitute in ELA. As a proud 2016 alumna of Seton LaSalle and a 2021 graduate of Duquesne University, Ms. Tiani brings a deep personal connection to our school, along with years of dedicated teaching experience in the Pittsburgh Public Schools system. Known for her energetic, creative, and student-centered approach, she is passionate about fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where every student is empowered to grow both academically and personally.
Dr. Christina Mozes - Full-Time Science & Math
Dr. Christina Mozes is pleased to join the Seton LaSalle math and science faculty this Fall 2026. She received a BS in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University and holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, having studied in partnering laboratories at the National Institutes of Health, Maryland, and Cambridge, UK. In her graduate and postdoctoral work, Dr. Mozes investigated the structure and function of proteins and nucleic acids important to human disease. Moving to Pittsburgh, Christina served as Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Robert Morris University and Duquesne University. During interim years at home raising her family, Christina enjoyed staying active in the Pittsburgh science community through volunteer activities of the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh and judging high school science fairs. She is actively involved in Faith Formation for adults and children through her parish and connected school, and finding creative ways to live out the liturgical year at home with her family is a passion! She is excited to join the mission of Seton LaSalle to form hearts and minds in the classroom.
Mrs. Jessica Fernandes - Long-Term Substitute English Language Arts
Returning for her second school year at SLS, Mrs. Fernandes is excited to begin the new school year teaching English and Classical Literature. She grew up nearby in Mt. Lebanon and earned my bachelor’s degree in Art Education from IUP. After spending 13 years teaching art in South Carolina, Mrs. Fernandes returned to western Pennsylvania to raise her family in Pittsburgh. As a dynamic educator, she holds Pennsylvania certifications in Art K–12 and English Language Arts 7–12 and has more than 16 years of classroom teaching experience. Whether through literature, writing, or creative learning experiences, her favorite part of teaching is getting to know my students, relating to them as individuals with respect, and helping them grow into confident, thoughtful learners.
Ms. Hadley Horensky, ‘20 - Long-Term Substitute English Language Arts
We are excited to welcome alumna Hadley Horensky back to McNeilly Road as a long-term substitute in our English Language Arts department. Inspired by her own transformative experience at Seton LaSalle—particularly under the mentorship of the late John Manear—Hadley went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Education. As a Rebel, she achieved Highest Honors all four years, was a member of the National English Honor Society, and served as a standout student-athlete, leading as a varsity Cross Country captain and a four-year varsity softball starter. Hadley recently completed her student-teaching assignment at Elizabeth Forward High School, teaching both academic and honors 9th-grade ELA. Hadley is passionate about bringing her deep commitment to faith, academic excellence, and student mentorship into the classroom, and we are thrilled to have her sharing her love for literature with our students this year.
Mr. Hernan Calderon - Long-Term Substitute Spanish
Mr. Calderon will need a special Rebel welcome as he recently relocated from California to Pittsburgh. He is an enthusiastic teacher committed to assisting young people in realizing the value of language, communication, and lifelong learning. Mr. Calderon earned a degree in Education from Santa Clara University, where he developed a strong foundation in student-centered teaching and educational equity. His background as a middle school teacher has given him the opportunity to design inclusive classrooms that accommodate a variety of learners, meaningful assessments, and interesting curriculum. Mr. Calderon believes that Catholic schools are special places: when students feel appreciated, pushed, and inspired to think critically, they can all succeed and reach their god-given potential. As a fluent spanish speaker, he is excited to share his enthusiasm for language and culture with students, encouraging them to develop into self-assured and globally-minded communicators.
