WHY DYANA ESCOBAR, '23, CHOSE SETON LASALLE
I chose to attend SLS because it captured my interest in many ways. It was welcoming, kind, and giving. It offered me many clubs and activities for anyone to join or participate in. It was a place that made me feel welcomed and that I could be myself. As soon as you walk in, you feel a great burst of energy and good vibes.
SLS ALLOWS SAM CARROLL, '20, TO FIT IN WHILE STANDING OUT
By far, the greatest aspect of SLS is its unity. The atmosphere of this school helps to make sure that nobody feels left out. The large body of friendly, accepting students also nurtures this feeling, and the wide range of activities allows for anyone to be involved with almost anything they're interested in.
THE ACADEMIC CHALLENGE HALEY PARKER, '21, WAS LOOKING FOR
I chose to attend Seton LaSalle for its academic excellence and the many opportunities I felt it would provide me. I attended a public high school my freshman year, but I felt I wasn't be challenged enough academically and that if I continued my education there, it wouldn't offer me the future I was hoping to have. I transferred my sophomore year to Seton LaSalle and it has been the best academic decision I have ever made. I am being challenged academically and socially, while also being prepared for college and the real world. Attending Seton LaSalle has opened up many doors for me educationally, socially, and professionally and it is such a blessing to be able to attend such a school.
WHAT MAKES OUR COMMUNITY UNFORGETTABLE FOR LUKE MANION, '20:
The best things about Seton LaSalle are the size, the people, the atmosphere, and the dedication of the staff. The size is perfect –– large enough that everybody has friends with similar interests, there are great athletic programs, and plenty of clubs, but small enough that everybody knows each other. The other great thing about the size is that most classes have a fairly low number of students, so you have a more personalized learning experience. The people are great –– we have students from so many different areas of Pittsburgh, so there is lots of diversity in the student body. The atmosphere is great. You can tell that people want to be at school (as much as high schoolers possibly can want to go to school). Lastly, one of the best things about Seton LaSalle is the dedication of the staff, we have teachers like Mr. Manear, who has been teaching at SLS since South Hills Catholic opened. You are always able to find teachers at sporting events, such as football games each and every week. Seton LaSalle is an amazing environment because of the unique mixture of the size, students, atmosphere and dedicated staff.
WHAT SETS SETON APART FOR ITALIA BERNARDI, '21
Although my old school was convenient, I did not like it. Everyone that I spoke to from Seton expressed nothing but love and pleasantness about their school, which is unusual, in my opinion, for high school students to enjoy attending school. I decided to shadow at Seton to see if it was the right place for me. Experiencing the friendliness and accepting community of our school completely pulled me in and made me fight to be able to attend SLS. I am very happy with my choice, and happy to say nothing has changed since I first shadowed. Everyone is so outgoing and loving toward each other, making my transition unbelievably easy!
