Mock Trial

MODERATOR: MR. BRIAN KLISAVAGE, '83 • ATTORNEY COACH: MR. MICHAEL FARNAN, '85

Mock Trial Competition provides high school students with firsthand experience of the American judicial system. Students participate by acting as lawyers, witnesses and timekeepers to defend or prosecute a case. Students are mentored by established lawyers who educate students about the law and help them in developing both sides of the case. The yearly case is sponsored by the Young Lawyers Division of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

In 2020, the Seton LaSalle Mock Trial team served as the jury for the finals of the 57th Annual Law School Mock Trial Competition, held at the Allegheny County Courthouse. In addition to rendering the verdict for the final trial in the competition, the students had the opportunity to meet with two Federal Justices, a well as several practicing trial attorneys and law students.
